Bright Sun, Clean Color
Greenport, Long Island
June 1, 2 & 3, 2012
$385 per student
This 3-day workshop is geared toward beginner/intermediate and intermediate paintersl. The primary focus will be on how to convey the sense of strong sunlight in your paintings by clarifying and pushing the values. If you’re out painting on a sunny day, that sense of light should be clearly communicated in your paintings, whether you’re painting a boat, a figure on the beach or a building in the landscape. We will also work on achieving clean color in our paintings, and utilize value patterns to aid in developing successful compositions. There will be discussions on materials, scene selection and brushwork. I will do a demonstration painting each day, and work with students individually on their paintings throughout the day as we paint outdoors. Limited to 14 students.
Contact The South Street Gallery to register. (631) 477-0021
